Well, I just realized I should probably clear this up OOCly since he brought it up in his IC intro, and I really should have done it then.

As a Servant (and one who doesn't cheat nearly as much as his F/SN version), Gilgamesh needs a Master to provide him with magical power, and since his canon Master is absolutely 99% undefined, I'm having him pick up one in the city. Now, the default here for Masterless Servants is pretty much Thor, who's probably got personal energy to spare, but Gilgamesh has...issues with gods, even Sufficiently Advanced Aliens who happen to share names with gods.

Now, he spoke about this in character to Einhart Stratos and Lena Sayers, but I wanted to confirm either with one of their players or someone else who's interested in getting involved whether they actually want to make a Servant contract with Gilgamesh. Basically they get first dibs, but if anyone else is interested...

Here are the pros and cons of being a Master:

PROS:
  • Gilgamesh, an extremely powerful fighter, becomes personally invested in your survival.
  • You get three Command Seals, which can in theory force Gilgamesh to do anything, even things he would normally never do or the physically impossible. Command Spells are more powerful the most specific they are. They also take the form of a sweet tattoo somewhere on your body (pain-free guaranteed!)

CONS:
  • You have to hang out with Gilgamesh, or at least you probably should.
  • You contribute magical energy to keep Gilgamesh alive. All living things have this, but people who can use actual "magic" like our mahou shoujo brigade have more, and will contribute more, making Gil more effective. This is a drain on your own abilities, but frankly Gilgamesh is probably the most "fuel efficient" Servant you can ask for, being an Archer with huge personal mana reserves (it's a game mechanics thing where he's from, don't worry about it). It might be a drain on a mundane character, but it is probably hardly noticeable to a real mage.
  • Unspecific Command Spells, or ones made by a magically-weak Master, can be ignored with willpower.
  • No Holy Grail in this setting, so you don't get to have a battle royale with twelve other people over a wish.

Oh, and if anyone's concerned about it, as far as I'm concerned, "mana dragon" supercharging doesn't exist in Fate/Prototype's version of the universe. Any Servant/Master romances that happened in that plotline were strictly by coincidence.

Anyway, that's about it. If Shaun or Mags want to confirm the stuff that was mentioned in character, or if anyone else is interested, tag this post! If no one's interested, I always have Thor as a backup.
